Digital TV Coupons

For those of you in the U.S. that have somehow missed the bombardment of advertising for the Digital TV conversion...

Go to DTV2009.org and apply for up to 2 $40 coupons good for the purchase of a digital TV to standard converter box. It can take a few weeks to get them so apply for them while you still can. I haven't heard anything about any expiration on the offer itself though the coupons DO expire after 90 days.

Get these coupons. Buy the box and hook it up to your standard definition Television (or even HDTV if you don't have cable or an HD antenna) and you never have to worry about missing commercials again.

Really, why else would you think they make it seem as if it would be a disaster if your T.V. went blank next year?

Will your tv really go blank if you don't convert? I'm already digital ... but curious about what will happen ...

we're already digital but we're not being forced into it like you are. i wonder what will happen here if you don't switch, maybe the signal will get stuck at the border?

We are Comcast customers already, so we don't have to worry about this. But I feel like they are shoving this analog to digital transition thing down people's throats.

>Diva: I think so. There may be some pirate TV stations still available but the broadcast frequency will no longer be legally usable by television. You may see gray static like when you hit the channels in between the channels. You may see some distortion from whatever takes its place. Or I'm hoping for Pirate TV.

>Iris: You're welcome. :)

>Better Safe: The prospect of illegal TV is intriguing. Illegal Alien TV even more so.

>Farhan: They really are. So much money is spent on commercials, they have a lot to lose if people aren't brainwashed constantly by brand names and celebrity support.
